FSDC welcomes appointment of new Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission

Hong Kong, 15 December 2022 - The Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) welcomes the new appointment of Miss Julia Leung Fung Yee, SBS, JP, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
"On behalf of the FSDC, I would like to congratulate Julia on being appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the SFC. Julia has a celebrated track record as a professional committing to the highest standard of integrity in a career spanning between the public and private sectors. With Julia taking the helm, I am confident that the SFC will contribute to expanding market access while safeguarding investor interest," said Laurence Li, Chairman of the FSDC. "With the common interest of developing Hong Kong into an asset and wealth management hub, as well as enhancing our competitiveness as an international financial centre, the FSDC looks forward to working more closely with Julia, the first female CEO in the SFC’s history, and team."
