Hong Kong, 4 May 2020 - The Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) announced today (4 May) the appointment of committee members to the FSDC with effect from 4 May 2020 to 16 January 2021.

A total of eleven new members have been appointed to the five existing committees (namely Policy Research Committee; Mainland Opportunities Committee; New Business Committee; Market Development Committee; and Human Capital Committee) to provide counsel to the work of the FSDC. The FSDC has consulted the Government on the appointment of the committee members in accordance with its Articles of Association.

The FSDC Chairman, Mr Laurence Li, SC, said, “I am pleased to welcome the new members to the FSDC family. Their unique backgrounds and diverse experience will make them valuable asset to the development of the organisation. The new additions will enhance diversity of the committees’ composition and bring in fresh perspectives as our work progresses. We look forward to their insight and guidance to the FSDC in performing the key functions of policy research, market promotion and human capital development.”

Going forward, the FSDC will take a holistic approach to conduct research, promotion and talent development and deepen engagement with stakeholders by weaving its way through such expansive and current themes as asset and private wealth management, ESG and green finance, FinTech as well as Hong Kong as an investment gateway connecting China and the rest of the world, which cut across various sectors of the financial services industry of Hong Kong.
