HONG KONG, 24 March 2026 – The Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL), led by Chairman Dr Adrian Cheng, today announced four key appointments to its Board of Directors, effective 17 January 2026. Mr Daryl Ng Win Kong and Mr Philip Sohmen have been appointed as Vice-Chairmen, joined by Mr Ronald Chan Wai-yan and Ms Winnie Chiu Wing-kwan as new Board Members.
The expansion brings together a prominent group of leaders from real estate, education, investment, and hospitality. Their collective expertise strengthens the Academy’s ability to guide global families in creating sustainable, high-impact legacies and fortifies its mission to cement Hong Kong as the world’s pre-eminent family office hub.
As Vice-Chairmen, Mr Daryl Ng and Mr Philip Sohmen will join Adrian Cheng in steering the Academy’s strategic direction. Mr Daryl Ng, Chairman of Sino Group, brings extensive experience in real estate and business innovation, paired with a deep commitment to community. His proven track record of weaving sustainability into his group’s core operations will offer invaluable insight on how families can structure their legacies to create tangible social and environmental impact. Mr Philip Sohmen, Co-Founder of the award-winning YK Pao School, brings deep experience in education and family philanthropy to support HKAWL’s work to support families translating their family values into actions that encourage responsible stewardship across generations.
The appointments of Mr Ronald Chan and Ms Winnie Chiu add critical new perspectives to the Board’s capabilities. Mr Ronald Chan, the Founder and CIO of Chartwell Capital, is a strong advocate for Hong Kong as a global family office hub. His perspective as a respected investment strategist offers the Board crucial insights into long-term wealth preservation and growth. Ms Winnie Chiu, Chairperson and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International, is a dynamic leader in global hospitality. Her expertise in creating world-class experiences, combined with her passionate support for the arts, youth and education, provides vital insight into the lifestyle and cultural pillars of modern family legacy.
