The COVID-19 outbreak has dealt a severe blow to the economy, shuttering many businesses around the globe. Hong Kong is no exception, with its unemployment rate hitting record high in more than a decade. The unprecedented challenges have brought university students one of the toughest job markets ever. What strategies should the graduates adopt to set them apart from other candidates in battling for a job? Which sector still has the potential to expand at this time of contraction?
The FSDC had cooperated with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to organise a virtual seminar. The speakers had shared the latest market outlook, career opportunities in the Fintech field and some practical job-hunting tips. They pointed out that the Fintech field will continue to be vibrant and the wave of digitalisation will create new opportunities. In addition, they encouraged students to chase their dream, concentrate on a specific area and identify their unique strengths during the job search.
