Financial Industry Recruitment Scheme for Tomorrow (FIRST) is the first job-creation scheme dedicated to the financial industry, commissioned by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and administered by Financial Services Development Council, under the HKSAR Government’s HK$6 billion Anti-epidemic Fund, with the aim of creating 1,500 full-time jobs in the financial services sector. Application period of FIRST opened on 30 September 2020 and closed on 30 April 2021.
Considering recent university graduates may face challenge in finding work under the current economic environment with the impacts of the pandemic, the Government has decided to launch the Financial Industry Recruitment Scheme for Young Graduates (YOUTH) as an extension of FIRST to create 200 full-time jobs in the financial services sector for university graduates having obtained a bachelor's degree or above in 2019 to 2021.
YOUTH allows eligible employers to apply for a subsidy to recruit up to two eligible new hires. The subsidy will be up to HK$10,000 per month per new hire for 12 months.
HK$10,000 or actual basic salary, whichever is lower, per month per new hire for 12 months
200 subsidised new hires who are university graduates having obtained a bachelor's degree or above in 2019 to 2021
Each applicant employer may apply for subsidy for up to two eligible new hires
At the time of each application, the new hire must have already commenced employment
Subsidy disbursed 8 to 12 weeks after each quarter end
Online application opened on 28 July 2021, on a first-come, first-served basis
Application period will close when the 200 quota exhausts, or 31 March 2022, whichever is earlier
